Hyundai’s second scheduled commercial in the 2010 Super Bowl is entitled “Paint.” With the Oscar-nominated actor Jeff Bridges providing the voice over, the 30-second ad compares the 2011 Hyundai Sonata to other great sonatas, including Mozart’s Piano Sonata in B Flat Major and Schubert’s Sonata in A Minor. The ad shows a Sonata in the paint shop process and then emerging as a shiny red, “Beautiful works of art are meant to last,” says Bridges. Hyundai has taken an aggressively offensive approach to one of the most anticipated sub-plots of the Super Bowl — the game’s commercials. Five days before the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints play, the automaker’s Super Bowl commercials have been released. Ironically, Brett Favre, who’s not playing in the Super Bowl, is the star with the 2011 Sonata.
