Who staffs the Geriatrics Assessment Clinic?
Eexperienced geriatricians staff the Geriatrics Assessment Clinic. These accredited physicians are from the Department of Internal Medicine and the Department of Family Medicine. All are University of Iowa College of Medicine faculty who hold Certificates of Added Qualifications in Geriatrics. The team includes a medical social worker, advanced nurse practitioners, and a pharmacist who specializes in medication and the elderly. Chaplain services may also be provided.as well as other health care providers. Referrals to other University or community specialists who work with the team are made, as needed.
