Who Spoiled Windows 7 – EU or Opera?
Following the objections against MS and IE monopoly raised by Opera, the European Commission has filed a case against Microsoft. Recently, there was a news leak from “The Wall Street Journal” that the next sitting of the EU on the case would instruct MS to include an option in its Windows installation for allowing the user to select the browser she/he wants. This means re-working on Windows Vista and Windows 7 to create a module that would let users select the browser they want. This could also mean postponing the scheduled release of the Windows 7 Operating system. The latest operating system, Windows 7, is to be released somewhere in the month of Oct this year. Another aspect of the ruling that forces including a module to let users select their own browser during Windows installation could stop further sales of Windows Vista until the module is incorporated.
