Who sings cotton eyed joe?
“Cotton Eyed Joe” has been sung by so many people that it would be difficult to pin point just one person. It’s was around before the Civil War. I remember it as a child, and I’m sure my mother remembered it as a child. It appears that our great great grandchildren will remember it as well. The latest singer for “Cotton Eyed Joe” would be the band, Rednex, when they brought it back out in 1994. I remember when my daughter told me that they danced to it as a line dance in school, and I informed her that the song was famous when I was a child as well. She looked at me like I was nuts, because she thought it was new.
