Clomid can only be taken for 4-6 months straight. If taken for too long it can overstimulate the ovaries and cause ovarian cancer. So if you are taking it you should only take it for 6 cycles at the most. If you are just wanting a period then Provera would be best but if you are wanting ovulation you can take clomid but only for a short amount of time.
