Who Should Receive the Seasonal Flu Shots?
It is strongly recommended that the following groups of people be immunized: • Persons 65 years of age or older • Residents of nursing homes • People with chronic respiratory conditions, including asthma • Children and teenagers receiving aspirin therapy • Doctors, nurses, medical students, nursing home employees In addition, persons providing essential community services and students in institutional settings (e.g. dormitories) are encouraged to receive flu vaccine to minimize the disruption of routine activities during epidemics.
