Who Should Play the Title Role in the New Big Screen Adaptation of Magnum, PI?
As any person who dares to call themselves a real movie fan knows, the only authentic claim to fame that the TV show Magnum PI has is that it was the basis of the contractual obligation that spared movie fans the indignity of watching the Indiana Jones franchise implode after Raiders of the Lost Ark. Were it not for the thankful fact that Tom Selleck had already signed the contract binding him to play Magnum, that would have been his face on the poster for the first Indiana Jones movie rather than Harrison Ford. It is pretty much impossible to imagine Raiders of the Lost Ark being quite the hit that it became had that been the case; it would almost certainly have lacked the repeat business necessary to create a blockbuster of Raiders proportion.
