Who should own a Labradoodle?
Prospective owners should be aware that unlike a pure bred Labrador Retriever or Poodle, the first cross Labradoodle litter may produce a variety of puppies in colour, size and coat. Coat possibilities include the hair coat, fleece coat and woolly coat depending on the generation. Doodles thrive on routine and must be given time for training to stimulate them. Training and early socialisation is the key to avoiding a dog with behavioural issues and active families/people are most suited to owning this breed. Labradoodles aren’t going to suit everyone and I will tell you if I don’t think they are the breed for you. Calm and labradoodle do not sit easily in the same sentence; if you want to own a calm dog, choose a Labrador!
