Who Should Not Take Prochlorperazine?
• Are allergic to prochlorperazine maleate, Compazine, or any inactive ingredients used in making the medication. Your healthcare provider or pharmacist has a list of the inactive ingredients. • Are younger than two years old or weigh less than 20 pounds. Also, prochlorperazine should not be used to treat nausea and vomiting during surgery for children. • Are taking large doses of medications or substances that cause significant drowsiness (see Drug Interactions With Prochlorperazine).
