Who should make the hiring decision?

0

Unfortunately, “who should” and “who does” – make the hiring decision – are all too often two very different parties. In an ideal world, this should be the “Line Manager”. Again, unfortunately this can have certain mistyness to it’s definition, so to clarify – this should be the person who should fall under both of the following : a) will be responsible for this person on a day to day basis, and whom would be the direct line of reporting authority, and b) the person has raised the need to make this hire and in turn would justify the business need. The real world however can often be very different, and in most cases, the decision is often taken with a majority call by the person who holds the purse strings!
