The real problem at the moment is that all the three main parties are proposing things that aren’t much different from each other. Being 44, I remember when they were all further apart and it was much easier to choose 🙁 But what is still true is that each party has its own philosophy about why things should be done a particular way, and that’s behind their specific policies. When you’re as middle-aged and grey as me you’ve experienced both the Conservatives and Labour in government. The most useful thing to do is explain what their political philosophies are. The Conservative Party has always been the party of the upper classes, believing in liberty, freedom, minimal government not interfering where it’s not wanted, but yet also bearing in mind that not everyone is so fortunate and some people need helping out.
