Who should I contact about an indoor air quality issue, a strong odor, or mold growth?

Please send an email to environment@mit.edu with your name, location, and a description of the issue or call the EHS office at x2-3477. If the problem is primarily a comfort issue such as temperature and humidity, call your Repair and Maintenance Zone at x3-4948. It would be helpful for you to survey your area to identify potential or actual sources of odor and, if it is recurring, to keep a log documenting the nature of the problem and surrounding conditions. Some common sources of odors include cleaning chemicals or paints, mold or mildew on a wet mop or rug, outside activities (construction, engine emissions), or building system related odors.
