Who should get vaccinated with the seasonal flu shot?
In general, anyone who wants to reduce their chances of getting the flu can get vaccinated. However, certain people should get vaccinated each year either because they are at high risk of having serious flu-related complications including young children, pregnant women, people with chronic health conditions like asthma, diabetes or heart and lung disease and people 65 years and older or because they live with or care for high risk persons. Seasonal flu vaccine is also important for health care workers, and other people who live with or care for high risk people to prevent giving the flu to those at high risk.
