Who should get Tamiflu or Relenza anti-virals?
People who are at a higher risk for complications: • Children 6 months to 4 years old (children under 2 years old are at higher risk for complications than older children) • Adults 65 years and older • Pregnant women • People with certain chronic medical or immunosuppressive conditions • People younger than 19 years of age who are receiving long-term aspirin therapy If you fall into one of these categories it is important that you contact your health care provider as soon as you have flu symptoms. He or she can determine if Tamiflu or another antiviral is best for you. If you do not have a health care provider, DO NOT go to the emergency room.
