Who should fund the application of the ASEMS requirements?
The new requirements are mandatory for all IPTs although there is no additional central funding available to cover the implementation. ASEG is providing sponsorship of training by the Defence Academy and specialist contractors. Ultimately, IPTs will need to manage the funding but this should be done through the preparation of a business case to deal with the specific issues encountered in the implementation. It is anticipated that the majority of the effort will be required on the Environmental side.
