Who should clear the remaining snow accumulations in front of my mailbox?
The responsibility to maintain access to curbside mailbox is the individual homeowners. If your mailbox is directly struck with any part of snow removal equipment during the snow removal operation, the effected resident will be reimbursed in the maximum amount of $50.00. Reimbursement is only given to the owner of a mailbox accidentally hit by Village equipment not hit by an excessive snow coming off of the plow. Reimbursement is also on give to those whose mailbox is in compliance with the U.S. Postal Regulations The United States Postal Service has an established set of conformance standards for both rural and residential placement of mailboxes.
