Part A/8.2 stipulates that the ship security assessment is carried out by persons with appropriate skills to evaluate the security of a ship. Part B/8.14 stipulates that the on-scene security survey is an integral part of any SSA. Therefore we understand following persons are appropriate to carry out on-scene security survey: security consultant shore based personnel (including CSO) who received appropriate training Master and SSO (possible even if not designated as Master or SSO on board) who received appropriate training .
