Who should be involved in completing the Recognition Program application?
Applying for the Recognition Program is a team effort. If your school already has a Coordinated School Health Team (CSHT) in place or a similar committee that coordinates health initiatives in your school, your team may already be partially or completely established. If no such group exists, we recommend forming a CSHT. This can be a newly created team; an existing team, such as a School Health Council; or a new subcommittee of your schools improvement team, management council, sex education advisory committee or staff wellness committee. CSHT members should represent your school and community and be committed enough to school health to attend any meetings related to the application and help assemble any information needed to complete the application. In addition to helping with the application, the team you put in place can also help you in taking further actions to improve your school environment.
