(People still learning the basics of playing or singing will be happier waiting for a future workshop). Experience in improvising is helpful, but not required. A native of Lima, Peru, Oscar Stagnaro is currently Associate Professor at the Berklee School of Music in Boston, where he teaches bass and directs the Latin ensembles, and also teaches at the New England Conservatory of Music. He is the co-author of the acclaimed method book The Latin Bass Book published by Sher Music. He received three Latin Grammy Awards for his recordings with Paquito D’Rivera — Live at the Blue Note, Brazilian Dreams and Funk Tango. The many artists he has recorded and/or toured with include Freddie Hubbard, Dave Valentin, Chucho Valdez, David Sanchez, and Tom Harrell among others. H
