Who should attend a grinding wheel course?
Answer. The vast majority of delegates are those that use grinding machines in their day to day work. However, because of the importance of using the correct wheel, handling and storage of abrasive wheels we would recommend that staff working in stores, goods inward and purchasing should consider attending a grinding wheel course. Also supervisors, managers and foremen should consider attending as Regulation 9 of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER 1998) states…… • Every employer shall ensure that any of his employees who supervises or manages the use of work equipment has received adequate training for purposes of health and safety, including training in the methods which may be adopted when using the work equipment, any risks which such use may entail and precautions to be taken.
