Who should apply to the CUNY Ph.D. Program in Urban Education?
Applicants should normally have at least two years of teaching or other relevant professional experience in education, preferably in urban settings, and at the educational level at which they intend to do research. Applicants should have an interest in becoming researchers of urban education and be prepared for a rigorous and time-consuming academic program. • Where do I get an application? The Office of Admissions at the CUNY Graduate Center, Room 7201, will have the applications and answers to some of the questions you may have. Their telephone number is 212-817-7470. Applications may also be downloaded from the web. • Do I need to take the GRE? How is it used in the admissions process? All graduate students at the Graduate Center must take the GRE. More information on this matter is available on the Office of Admissions website. Have your scores sent directly to the CUNY Graduate Center (college code 2113). Our Admissions Committee does not use a cut-off or minimum score on the GRE.
