Who selects the films for the Cannes Film Festival?
According to the official site of the Cannes Film Festival, the festival’s Board of Directors selects the films exhibited. The Board of Directors is also responsible for selecting the jury and jury President who award the festival’s honors. The jury is comprised of no more than nine French and foreign members who vote by secret ballot. The festival’s full name is the Association Franaise du Festival International du Film, and it’s a state-approved association under the auspices of the French government’s Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
