Who scores the writing assessments?
The writing assessments are scored by Californias testing contractor. They have trained professional to do the scoring. Although some of the scorers are from California, and a small number are California teachers, the assessments are scored throughout the nation. The scorers must have a Bachelors degree in English, and the accuracy of their scoring is monitored. The standards for scoring the assessments are established by a committee of California educators.
