Who Says Pigs Can´t Fly?
July 2010 The Coachella Valley is home to many famous and wealthy people. For some, the only limitations are their imagination and how to find companies that will satisfy their unusual requests. When Orr Builders was approached to move a 2,500 pound bronze pig, our owner was ready for the challenge. The pig belongs to Katy Callender, the widow of Don Callender, who passed away in January. The founder of the Marie Callender’s restaurant chain, Mr. Callender also opened Babe’s at the River and Jackalope Ranch in Indio – both well known for their ribs and adorned with bronze pigs of their own. Since the pig was so large, moving it through the side yard was not an option. Considering their options, Greg, Brian and I all looked at each other and said, almost simultaneously, ‘crane it!
