Who says cellular phones are dangerous?
A. Perhaps the first warning of mobile phone dangers was reported by Dr. Michael Repacholi of the Royal Adelaide Hospital in Australia. An article in the American Journal of Radiation Research discussed his study of 100 mice carrying cancer-causing genes that promote lymphoma, cancer of the immune system. The incidence of lymphoma doubled from the spontaneous rate of 22% to 43% when the mice had prolonged exposure to electromagnetic fields of the kind emitted by digital mobile phones. Dr. Marjorie Lindquist wrote an article Cellular Phones: The Brain Cancer Connection. Dr. Lindquist cited EMF researcher Dr. William Ross Adey s testimony before the Senate subcommittee where he warned of a brain cancer epidemic from cell phone use. He recommended using cell phone only in an emergency On December 3, 1999, CBS released a study conducted by Dr. Henry Lai of the University of Washington showing microwave radiation similar to that used in cell phones caused long-term memory loss in rats.
