ROADIE.NET was established in July 1998 by former roadie Karl Kuenning, RFL and is currently based out of Houston, Texas. It remains a free resource and is supported by ancillary sales of Roadie.net email addresses, Roadie books, Roadie.net merchandise, advertising and click through referrals to web partners like Amazon and Google. Several dozen Roadie volunteers also help run the site.
