Who responds to a medical emergency?
A Windsor Police officer is automatically sent to medical emergencies in town as a first responder. Windsor Police Officers are equipped with medical kits and Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and are able to initiate medical care while the ambulance is in route. Citizens who live in the Poquonock area may also see members of the Windsor Volunteer Fire Department respond to initiate medical care. Shortly after, an ambulance with at least one EMT-B and one Paramedic will arrive.
