It’s the wealth.It’s the same reason professional footballers can knock a 16-year-old boy’s teeth out,and receive a much more paltry sentence than say,an unemployed man who panics and knocks someones teeth out in self-defence.Sadly,in the UK,we tell ourselves that we care more and do more about sex offenders,but the truth is that if a subject is scary (like the subject of old men doing it with kids)we actually leave it up to judges who have been to boarding school and never really mixed with everyday people,defence barristers,whose main talent in life is to be a passable liar,and coppers who have become so thick,that most parents would be embarrassed if their kid wanted to be one nowadays.
