Who regulates Aboveground Storage Tanks in the District? Who should I call about an AST emergency?

0

Above-ground Storage Tanks (ASTs) are primarily regulated by the DC Fire BOCA codes. However, in some cases the UST Branch and Hazardous Materials Branch has assisted in responding to emergencies, by conducting inspections and giving cleanup advice, although the program is not authorized by regulation to do so. DDOE and the DC Fire Prevention Branch are currently reviewing the above-ground procedures to ensure that clear decisive procedures outline who responds to these tanks and their emergencies.
