Who reasearched the way to store blood and formed blood banks?
Being a complex medical procedure, though routine to specialists, the whole idea of Blood Transfusion cannot be traced to one man, like improvements in Light Bulbs ( Edison and Westinghouse, for example) There was a German/American hematologist ( Blood specialist) who in effect over a lengthy period perfected what is now known as blood typing- and was awarded the Nobel Prize for this endeavor. It is an established fact that Dr. Charles Drew, a Black man, was instrumental in the development of Blood Transfusions and surely made a personal appear for such things as blood banks and donor-ships during the War ( War II here) . Drew was not awarded the Nobel Prize. Some religious groups are opposed to Blood transfusions as they say this violates some Old Testament protocols on what is apparently a tribal ( Blood Rite) or perhaps an injunction against Race-Mixing ( Mixed blood could imply racial intercourse!)
