Who really won the Korean war?

Let me elaborate a little on princessmei’s answer. The Korean conflict was fought to a stalemate. In the end, North Korea experienced a net loss of territory, but not by that much and it was not eliminated as a threat to its southern neighbor. So, neither side really achieved its goal in the conflict, that of eliminating unifying the peninsula under a single government. Add to this the fact that, technically, the conflict is not even over. There was never a formal peace treaty signed by any of the combatants. All there was is a armistice, a cease fire. Neither side seems to be particularly interested in starting up open hostilities again, each side maintains an armed presence on the demilitarized zone that marks the boundary between the two countries.
