In order to qualify officially as a ‘Rookie’ in MLB, a player must not have had ANY ONE of the following: • 130 AB’s (At Bat’s) • 50 IP (Innings Pitched) • 45 days on a Major League roster during the 25-man limit (i.e., before September 1). Time in military service or on the disabled list does not count against this limit.
