John McKinney was hired at Illinois Crop Improvement Association, Inc. in Champaign, Illinois in June 2001 as the Identity Preserved Grain Lab Director. John has a farm background and grew up on a farm near Toledo. He went to The University of Illinois and received a B.S. and M.S. degree in Agricultural Engineering. As a researcher with Cargill Hybrid Seeds, John worked with Steve Mbuvi and the IPG Lab. John has an extensive background in grain quality particularly relating to corn processing.
