Who provides referees for the U5-U8 games?
U5-U8 provide referees for their own games. For U5, the region recommend that the U5 coaches “monitor” their own games. someone other than the coaches referee these games. – For U6-U8, the region recommend that someone other than the coaches referee these games. If that is not possible, then the coaches should referee the games, but give fair guidance to BOTH teams. Although we encourage all coaches to attend the appropriate referee clinics, at this time, only the U8 coaches are mandated to be certified U8 referees. Certification can be obtained by attending a U8 referee clinic.
