Who provides better ISP service Cablevision or Verizon Fios ?

I’ve had Cablevision for 7 years – 1 outage. I’ve had Verizon 3 times – 7 outages the first day last time. Verizon tech support is great – unless English is the only language you speak. I work around the corner from Cablevision, so I can understand them. FiOS is faster – but Cablevision is still MANY times faster than the internet. (I haven’t gotten a single long-distance over-100MB download – on my 120MBps connection – that topped 2mbps average throughput. So the 15mbps I’m getting from Cablevision is more than fast enough, even if every one of my 6 computers is downloading a large file at the same time. FiOS is cheaper, but the cost per MB, when they’re down, is enormous. Maybe I’ll try Verizon in another 5 years. (Legal disclaimer – I never worked for either one of them, I’m just a satisfied, if overcharged, customer of Cablevision.
