Who Provided The Musical Score For The Lord Of The Rings Films?
Howard Shore provided the musical score for the Lord of the Rings films. Other films he has povided music for include The Silence of the Lambs, Dogma, The Fly, Gangs of New York, The Departed, Mrs Doubtfire. Some of the actors from the film provided music for the soundtrack, most notably Billy Boyd (Pippin) and Viggo Mortenson (Aragorn) who both sang in The Return of the King. Other artists such as Enya and Annie Lennox feature on the soundtrack. The soundtrack has won two awards (one for Fellowship of The Ring and one for Return of the King, both for Best Original Score and Best Original Song). The soundtrack is available to purchase from many stores including online stores such as Amazon. On certain versions of the soundtracks some fans complained that certain tracks that were featured in the film were not included on the CD. This was mainly for the three CD box set version.
