Who prosecutes a patent on behalf of UT Southwestern?
Outside patent counsel (a patent attorney or a patent agent) is assigned by UT System’s Office of General Counsel with input from UT Southwestern. Usually, patent counsel selected for prosecuting applications for UT Southwestern have advanced scientific degrees in addition to valuable experience in prosecuting patent applications in the scientific field.
