Who Produced The Conceptual Art For The Film Labyrinth?
Brian Froud was the conceptual artist for the 1986 fantasy film ‘Labyrinth’. He is a fantasy illustrator, and was born in 1947 in Winchester, England. Brian’s work has been used as inspiration for a number of films, such as the 1982 film ‘The Dark Crystal’. Brian also produced work for the 1996 book entitled ‘The Goblin Companion: A Field Guide to Goblins’, for which he worked with Terry Jones, who produced the descriptions for the goblins that Froud drew. The includes illustrations and descriptions of the goblins from ‘Labyrinth’, as well as other goblins. The book was an edited version of the earlier book ‘Goblins of the Labyrinth’ which was released ten years earlier (1986). His conceptual works include: The Storyteller (1988) Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland (1988) The Life & Adventures of Santa Claus (2000) Peter Pan (2003) The Power of the Dark Crystal (2007, sequel to ‘The Dark Crystal’) He has also produced a number of art books based on Faeries (fairies).
