Who prefers a palm tree christmas to a white one?
I lived in japan for two years, and there was a whole menagerie of foreign people i ended up being friends with from all over the world (my close friends included a group of thais, swedes, kiwis, chinese, americans, canadians (one of them me), venezuelans, and a kenyan….sweet global experience) anyway…the kiwis had never seen snow before, and thought the idea of a white christmas was so weird…they both said that their family christmas tradition was presents in the morning, and then everyone would start drinking around noon and go to the beach for a surf and turf bbq for the evening, as december 25 is the height of summer in the summer hemisphere…it seems we both blew each other’s minds!
