Who Plays in the New York Philharmonic?
107 musicians make up the New York Philharmonic. They are men and women from the United States and several foreign countries. Some joined just a year ago, and some have played with the Philharmonic for over 40 years! While some musicians began playing an instrument when they were very young, others decided to become a musician in their teens. Some of the most famous music schools are right in New York, like The Juilliard School and the Eastman School of Music.
