A full time Nanny is not deemed to be self employed. The Employer (family) is therefore responsible to register as an Employer and to pay the tax on the Nanny’s salary to Inland Revenue. Part time Nannies and Maternity Nurses are deemed to be self employed and are responsible for their own tax.
