Who pays return postage for faulty/misrepresented item?

Most companies will pay for the return postage by sending you labels, however if it’s an individual seller than it may be another story since they are likely a normal person like you. In my opinion, if it was broken then it’s probably not their fault since it could have broken in transit and then you should probably pay for it. But if it was completely different from what was described, then try to sell them on that and get them to pay. If not, you may want to try to get the cheapest postage and send it back to save money, or not return it at all if its something cheap and postage would be a significant percentage of that.
