Who pays for the students to be placed at the St. Cloud Children’s Home?
In cases involving county assistance, all costs of care are billed directly to the county. The county is responsible for obtaining the family’s portion (if any) of the cost incurred. The county utilizes federal, state, and local monies singly or in combination to pay the per diem. Direct private referrals are paid for by the family’s health insurance, with the parents being responsible for co-pays and deductibles (as indicated in their private insurance contract). We are contracted providers for most major insurance companies. The St. Cloud Children’s Home is a not for profit agency and all per diem revenues are utilized in the treatment program costs. The per diem rate is determined annually by the Board of Directors. Educational costs are billed back to the resident school district.
