Who pays for doula services?

0

At this time, doulas are paid by the families who hire them. (As noted above, doula services are also a wonderful gift to give!) If your doula is DONA certified, ask whether she has an NPI (National Provider Identification) number. You may be able to file a claim with your insurance provider, but this does not mean that you are guaranteed to be reimbursed for your doula’s fees. There are great efforts being made to ensure that all families who wish to have the care of a doula will be able to obtain that care, and the more claims are filed, the more we will see families being reimbursed.
