Who passes the laws in Ancient Pompeii?
I don’t get your question very well but this is what I can tell you. The laws in ancient Pompeii were exactly the same as the ones in Rome or any other Roman city. These laws were passed by the Senate and needed the final approval of the Emperor. In conquered territory the laws were virtually the same but had some clauses added to them according to the needs and customs of the Region. In those places the Law would be upheld by a Governor appointed by Rome,who could be Roman but also local if he was deemed loyal and trustworthy. It was not only slaves,prostitutes etc who could not become Senators,these high posts were occupied traditionally by members of the Aristocratic families in Rome. I hope that this will help you.
