Who participates in the mediation process?
• Mediator • Parent or parents (as defined in the Family Services Act) • On-going child protection social worker • On-going child protection supervisor or designate (minimum accessible by telephone). Optional participants are: • The child • Extended family, friends, elders, those recognized as support • Legal counsel • Anyone the mediator deems relevant. The mediator will determine whether and which optional participants may join the mediation.
