Who owns the intellectual property published on the JHSPH OCW website?
Prior to making any course materials publicly available, the JHSPH OCW team extensively reviews all materials to determine the correct ownership of the materials and obtain the appropriate licenses to make the materials openly available on the Web. We will promptly remove any material that is determined to be infringing on the rights of others. If you believe that any portion of the JHSPH OCW materials infringes on another’s copyright, please fill out our feedback form. The intellectual property policies created for JHSPH OCW are clear and consistent with other policies for scholarly materials used in education. Faculty retain ownership of most materials prepared for JHSPH OCW, in accordance with the JHSPH policy on textbook authorship. JHSPH retains ownership only when significant use has been made of the School of Public Health’s resources. If student course work is placed on the JHSPH OCW site, then copyright of the work remains with the student.
