Who owns and runs the plant?
The treatment plant is owned and operated by the City of Bainbridge. Certified plant operators and other staff receive extensive training on a continual basis to keep current with new technology and improved operating procedures. Wastewater treatment plants are also regulated by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Washington State Department of Ecology. They require frequent monitoring and reporting of various plant functions.
