Who or what are Cherubim and Seraphim?
Cherubim From the bible we read about these creatures and have very little insight about them. They seem to be that of guardians. During the medieval era they were descriptive as being chubby wing infants. There first mention is found in Genesis 3:24. So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life. The next time we here about these angelic creatures is in Exodus 37:7-9 when the tabernacle was built. Golden cherubim adorned the Ark of the Covenant, and are also depicted in the woven tapestry of the curtain in front of the Holy of Holies. From Numbers 7:89 and Psalm 80:1 we know that God dwells between two Cherubim. Ezekiel shares his vision in Ezekiel 1:4-28, and 10:3-22 The cherubim in Ezekiel’s vision, had four faces: man, lion, cherub and eagle.
