Who offers the Perinatal Continuing Education Program?
The PCEP Implementation Manual CD-ROM contains directions and downloadable materials for 3 implementation pathways. Original outreach education use of PCEP through Initial Program and Continuation Program pathways are described in detail. The Internal Use pathway allows any hospital to implement PCEP within that facility, independent from any other hospital. Outreach education use of PCEP is typically coordinated by a regional medical center for the perinatal staff of hospitals within the center’s service region. Many of the regional centers using the Perinatal Continuing Education Program for outreach also use PCEP within their own institutions. Regional perinatal medical centers are large institutions that serve hospitals in the surrounding geographic area.
